I just signed a BT broadband option3. It was actived in 13 March. It supposed to be up to 8M, but when I download something the speed is only 70 KBPS.
I have no any idea about this issue, please help me find is it BT's problem. Thanks a lot.

By the way, I test my speed with broadbandchoices.com, it is only 0.4M

Your RWIN setting is correct. Check your signal quality. Do a tracert to www.yahoo.com and post.

What kind of router and modem are you using? The ping times at hop 1 are too high. They should all be <1ms.

what you need to do is get rid of the bt connection and go for a competent broadband suppler.

i signed up for broadband option 3 like you, 3 weeks ago and its utter shite. ive emailed bt a million times and they keep saying delete your temp internet files which is alot of help.

has yours ever been fast? i used to get download speeds of about 900k but then one day that just stopped

now theyre telling me its a problem with the internal wiring.

you could try cycling the router that helped me a few times. the connection is suppose to be unstable for the first 10 or 15 days (dont ask bt which it is they dont seem to know) so maybe thats it.

hope i may have helped, i just wanted to rant about how crap bt is really

EDIT - that is exactly what my tracert looked like so we may have the same problem, i will keep an eye on this post.. using a bt homehub yes?

Many thanks. I think it is bt's problem. I will contact them first and then consider leave. Do I have 14 days peace of mind period? Otherwise need to pay lots of money to them.

try tiscali. theyre basically bt (uses the same lines so you can get tiscali if you can get bt) but half the price and without the losers at bt running the show. tiscali do have a fair useage policy but i think bt have something far more sinister in place that they dont tell anyone about..

i wanted to go for tiscali but with at bt employee in the house we got the bt for cheaper than tiscali. but they should really be paying us to use it.

i know someone on tiscali, never had any problems just get a good router
