Hi, i bought a Cisco 2621 Router. I am trying to congifure it to my network. I can get the LAN to configure but i cant connect the router to my DSL modem. My SBC yahoo DSL uses PPPoE with a dynamic IP address. I read on sites that i need to go in and in the config menu enter this command "vpdn enable" and then there are a few more sets after that.

Well in my case, the vpdn command is not recongized at all! I even type ? and dont see the command in the menu. Maybe am i running the wrong firmware? Does anyone have the correct firmware i would need and could they help me with updating the unit, i would very much appreciate it!.

Here is my boot up sequence...

ok, i have solved my own problem, just thought i would share for anyone who has the same problem. I had to upgrade the IOS (firmware) to a version that support both VPDN & PPPoE Client. I didnt have enough memory for my router so i bought some more off of ebay. For all the ones with PPPoE you need at least 64MB DRAM and 16MB Flash Memory.

Some require 64MB DRAM and 32MB Flash memory but if you do it that way you have to upgrade the BOOT ROM too to accept the 32MB Flash Memory and that begins to get costly.

If anyone need information on this please feel free to email me, ill be glad to help. Thanks!

To find the correct IOS go here http://tools.cisco.com/ITDIT/CFN/Dispatch?act=featSelect&task=detail&featStartsWith=All
