Hey everyone,
I'm having a bit of a problem here...
I have a wireless router set up which networks my Windows XP computer (wired) with my Windows XP laptop (wireless). This all works perfectly fine.
I tried putting our Windows ME computer on the network wirelessly using a USB adapter. It worked, except I couldn't open folders or items like My Computer on the desktop for some reason when the computer was connected to the network!?
So, I thought the USB adapter was the problem. So, I bought a cheap PCI Ethernet card off eBay so I could wire the Windows ME computer into the router.
And I have exactly the same problem! When the computer is switched on plugged into the network, I can't open any Windows Explorer items like folders and My Computer, and after a while explorer.exe sort of gives up and locks up. I can open normal programs and files, though.
So if I want to connect to the Internet on the ME machine, I have to switch the computer on *unplugged* from the network, and then plug it back in when the computer has finished loading.
Has anyone got any ideas as to what is going on!? Thanks!
Chris
