IP Lease expires and internet goes down each day! HELP!

I currently have laptop with Windows Vista Home Premium installed. I am using ADSL and I have a Linksys WRT54GC Wireless router. The problem I am having is that my IP address lease is 1 day and after that my internet stops working. I currently have my network settings on the computer set to automatic.

How do I fix this problem? Previously I had a wired router and used a static IP and it worked flawlessly for 5 years. I am having so much more problems with my new laptop and wireless router.

The router has a keep alive setting on the main page.

Can you elaborate? What main page are you talking about, and what is the exact phrase I should look for to have this setting?

logon to the router, takes you to the main page where you select the type of connection.

adsl means PPoE in the dropdown list, enter username & password...benath that is usually choice of 2 radio buttons: Connection on demand OR Keep Alive - redial period.

use keep alive redial thus when the ip address renews the connection should be active and the ip will get updated in the router.
