Netowrking problem, HELP!

I'm trying to set wireless network (not my house btw)

It goes like this, Verizon DSL modem _> Linksys router _> iMAC _> Dell Laptop

I can get exellent signal on the laptop all right, but no internet, when i go to IE it prompts me for password (admin/admin craP) I type it in still nothing.

I run tracert or ping commands, no response either. Any ideas as to what it might be? Thing is I do get Excellent signal strength from my router, just not internet? wtf..

Hi,

Are the router and laptop on the same channel for that connection, check in both their setting's that they are.

Have you added the laptop through Network connections, wireless setup?

I share through a router and cannot ping any one else on the system, not uncommon.

You need to configure wireless router and adapter correctly, so that they can work correctly. Having good signal is good, but it doesn't mean you already connected to the network. Here are some articles on wireless network setup..
