connecting 2 routers together

I have two Linksys wireless routers, one is 54 mbps the other is older 11 mbps both are 10/100 lan but couldn't figure out how to connect them.

I wanted the first one to connect to the modem and then connect to the second one with Cat 5 so I could make use of the other RJ45 connections on the back of the second one. I called Linksys and what they told me to do didn't work.

You need "Portforward.com" they have a guide for every router going, look at the portfowarding section and how to on routers.

There is no need to port forward when you're connecting routers.

To the OP...are you looking to run WDS or wireless bridging? In other words...use the wireless component to span across the house from one router to the other?

Depends on your goals, and what your existing routers support. WDS can spread the network out, bridging can span a distance and allow ethernet on the other end.
