Help with folding!!

I uninstalled the graphical version and I am trying to install the console version but it seems to keep getting stuck in the command prompt. :confused:

probley cause the versions are different. delete the old work and config and redo it, this time set as a service. the graphical client is 5.03 the console is 5.04. thats my guess

When you install the console version, that is exactly what you will see...just what you showed us in the picture. You need to install a monitor to get a more visual picture on what is happening, how fast, the unit and etc. There is nothing wrong with your machine...or your set up. :)

If its stuck there then yeah there is a problem, It should show the downloading of the WU, engaging the Core and then the steps as they are completed.

I'm not really sure how long would it take for it to be considered stuck, but it never went to the next thing or whatever which really irritated me... lol
So I uninstalled then reinstalled the graphical version. :irate:

After starting it and letting it run for a couple mins, if it wasnt sitting at something like this:

Then it was stuck.

Ahhhh...I see now...and YoS is correct...if it was not moving from that blinking cursor...yes..it was stuck. I have had that happen upon occasion, and I simply shut it down, let it sit for a minute, restart and all is fine. However with yours being a new download ...that may not have been the case...and there could have been a glitch. I see you have re-downloaded now, and the monitor will help you tremendously. A bit tricky to get set up, but once going its a very nice addition. Instructions are on that page also I believe...if you get stuck.

I personally do not run any of mine as a service, tho a great number of folks do. Then you can't see whats going on at all...and I like to check them. Fold on teammate! :thumb:

What do you mean as a service?
Whats the difference between as a service and not as a service? :confused:

As a service you dont see the console, not as a service you see the console.

It says that it could not transmit unit 1 to collection server; keeping in queue.
And it doesn't move from there!! :(

Usually when that happens...it is getting a new unit before sending the old one...unless of course it is stuck at that blinking cursor again...and after it receives the new unit..it will then go ahead and send. Occassionally I have to restart the wu, but not often. Does not matter however...if you are pleased with the graphical version and it is less irritating for you..enjoy! Thanks for helpng..however or whichever you choose :) I like to watch them as well..that is why I do not run them as a service. :) I had a P4 dualie go down yesterday :(..processor fan issues, which had to be ordered..so it will be down about a week. My farm will be a bit smaller for a bit. :( Better a week than a fried processor!!

I like to see to as you were saying but I think the graphical version in installed as a service too but I can still see it. :confused:
