Hi all, I have a Epson Stylus D88 connected via USB to my main. I am on a wireless network and have been trying to get my laptop to print thorugh the wireless.

ive had it working before. but since i re-installed windows XP Pro on my main i cant get it to work.

I've read through and tried things already suggested but no luck.

Both computers have File / Print Sharing enabled.
Both have the firewall set up (Windows XP did this automatically)
somtimes i can see both computers in My Network Places, but mostly not!
I've enabled NetBIOS over TCP/IP.

On the laptop when i add a new printer, it cannot find the printer but i can force it by typing my main pc address. It installs the drivers but still does not print?

Main PC is Win XP Pro.
Laptop is Win XP Home.

Can anyone think of somthing i missed?

Thanks in advance.

Have you "shared" the printer on the computer to which it's connected?
On the other, have you added a "network" printer - not a local printer?

comp w/ the printer attacted to t:
a. enable File & Print Sharing
b. set a static ip address for this comp
c. enable netbios over tcp/ip
d. folder options > view tab > put check next to:
......automatically search for network folders & printers
......use simple file sharing

laptop:
a. enable File & Print Sharing
b. Add network printer
c. enable netbios over tcp/ip
d. folder options > view tab > put check next to:
......automatically search for network folders & printers
......use simple file sharing

both comps must have these services set to automatic & started:
a. computer browser
b. dhcp client (laptop only, set to manual & stop for desktop)
c. network connections
d. network location awareness service
e. server

File & Print sharing is showing in the network properties for the wireless.
Already had stitic IP, but redid the 4th number.
Netbois is enabled.
folder options were already set!

laptop:
a. enable File & Print Sharing
b. Add network printer
c. enable netbios over tcp/ip
d. folder options > view tab > put check next to:

Same, showing in the network properties.
Network printer added, and re-added.
Netbois is enabled.
options were on but "use simple file sharing" option is not there on laptop (Win XP PRO thing?)

both comps must have these services set to automatic & started:
a. computer browser
b. dhcp client (laptop only, set to manual & stop for desktop)
c. network connections
d. network location awareness service
e. server

All these services were started, although some were set to manual.

Thanks for the advice, but its just the same. Laptop installs printer drivers over the network (HDD goes nuts for a few seconds on Main when adding printer to laptop)

but it just sits in the printer que on the main PC and nothing happens.

options were on but "use simple file sharing" option is not there on laptop (Win XP PRO thing?)
it's at bottom of list in folder options > view tab on xppro.
