Can u guys plz help me with this networking headache!!!

My network is currently made up of two wireless routers and 6 connected devices:

1) 54 MBPS 802.11G TRENDnet TEW-432BRP @ 192.168.1.1

(IPs from: 192.168.100-192.168.199 DHCP enabled)
1) WAN port - Cable Internet
2) LAN port - Ethernet cable to WAN port of LINKSYS
3) LAN port - Ethernet cable to Win. XP Home Computer 'SAMIR'
4) Wireless 802.11G - XBOX 360

2) 11 MBPS 802.11B LINKSYS BEFW11S4 @ 192.198.1.1

(IPs from: 192.198.1.100-192.198.1.199 DHCP enabled)
1) Wan port - Ethernet wire from LAN port of TRENDnet (for internet etc.)
2) Wireless 802.11B - Laptop Win. XP Professional 'MAJID'
3) Wireless 802.11B - Desktop Win. XP MCE 2005 'AHMED'
4) Wireless 802.11B - PSP 'PSP'
5) Wireless 802.11B - Pocket PC 2003 Pro 'pocket_pc'

I setup my network in order to make sure that my Wireless-B devices don't connect directly to the Wirless-G router in order not to slow it down. Everything on the network has an internet connection, and is working very well. My only problem now (major problem) is that devices connected to one router cannot find devices connected to the other, and this is very serious because i need all devices to be networked, especially my computer 'AHMED' to be connected with the XBOX 360 for Media Center Extender Functionality. Any help would be much appreciated, as there is no way i can make it work on my own. Also, I tried buying an 802.11A router, but they dont sell those in Canada, otherwise everything could have been connected to that without slowing down faster devices.

Hi iraq2008,

Most G (54Mbps) series wireless routers can still talk to B (11Mbps) series wireless clients without bringing down the speed!.

Why you are using two routers? no need for that if all 6 clients can recieve strong wireless signal from one wireless router.

Your network should look like the following:

Cable modem ....... TRENDnet TEW-432BRP ....... wireless clients.

no need for the second router or routers cascading Ahmad.

Panda, shukran, but i did not mention that my wireless-G and my wireless-B routers are on different floors, the Wireless-B is upstairs while the Wireless-G is downstairs, this is to provide better signals, as one router supplies B upstairs, while the one that supplies G has all of its receivers downstairs. Can anyone make this setup work?

modem > trend > linksys
............... |...........|
......clients in range...other clients in range

Trend setup using dhcp, all clients configed to use dhcp. Linksys use as an access point ONLY. DHCP handled by the Trend. Run a cat5 cable from uplink port on Trend to any lan port on the Linksys. Turn OFF dhcp on the linksys. Do NOT use the WAN port on the linksys.

This setup will work fine, the trend becomes an access point that extends the range of the trend network. Update the linksys w/ latest firmware too.

To connect the 2 routers (on 1 network) without using a cat5 cable (wirelessly) the second router (linksys) must have the ability to do wireless point to point bridging, which I do not believe that old linksys can do, unless new firmware has support for it.

I dont think it has an uplink port, do u mean just any regular LAN port on the TRENDnet to a LAN port on the LINKSYS?

I second on TonyT's solution, you should have one router in your setup for both floors while access points can be many.

Yes any regular LAN port on the TRENDnet to a LAN port on the LINKSYS not exceeding 100 meters length.

i don't now if your LINKSYS BEFW11S4 needs cross over cable for that uplink or just normal straight cable.

Most new Ethernet switches and routers with Ethernet ports can accept straight cable for uplinking.

Straight through cable should work, both routers have auto-switching.
