Linksys Router And Dsl

Hi all, I am new to this forum and had a question...

I used to have cable modem hooked up to my Linksys wireless router. I have now switched to DSL (dynamic IP) and my modem is not retieving a signal from the central office. It seems as though there is an issue with the IP address renewing through my Linksys router. How should I set up my router settings so that it can work with my Yahoo DSL?

login to router 192.168.1.1
connection type = ppoe
enter dsl username & password

caution, some dsl modems are now actuallt modem-router combos. If your modem has 4 ports on the back then it has a router built in aldeary thus won't need the linksys anymore. What brand/model modem?
