Internet Connection Question

Ok I sign on to my computer and my internet auto connects, i have a netgear router and comcast cable internet, I open my ff web browser and it goes to my homepage and i can browse the internet for about 5-10 min before my internet like dissconnects, it doesnt show its dissconnected though on my computer, it always seems normal but my downloads/uploads just stop and i always get the screen - cannot connect to whatever the site *yahoo.com* is not avaible or whatever, but sometimes if im patient and wait 5-10 min i can start browsing but not all the time i usually have to shut down my computer unplug the router and the modem wait for them to reset and then do it all over, can anyone please help out to fix my problem? ask for more info if needed :)

Check whether your WAN IP address is the same each time you unplug your modem. It is the IP address at hop 2 of your tracert if you are using DSL and hop 3 if you are on Cable. You should be having a different IP address when the modem is reconnected.
