Hi,

I have problem accessing software hubs set up in my broadband network. Earlier I was able to access them easily. But it seems like my ISP has seperated networks now. I am giving ip configurations of my machine and a friends machine below.

My machine.
IP: 10.15.27.65
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default gateway: 10.15.27.1

Friends machine.
IP: 10.40.101.139
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default gateway: 10.40.101.1

I cannot ping his machine. It says 'request timed out'. But I can ping his default gateway i.e. 10.40.101.1
Similarly he can ping my gateway i.e. 10.15.27.1, but cannot ping my machine.

We used to share our files on DC++ with the same settings. But since last month this problem is occuring. When i called up my ISP, they said DC++ is blocked, which I think is not possible.

I did following things to try to resolve the issue, but the issue still persists.

1. Changed the default port of the hub from 411 to 5555.
2. Tried using Neomodus direct connect instead of DC++
3. Used 'tracert' command to trace route to my friends gateway. It reaches there in the first hop.
3. Added a route for my friends PC in my router table by following commands.
route add 10.40.101.139 10.40.101.1
route add 10.40.101.0 10.40.101.1
4. I also tried adding his gateway settings to my ARP table.

Please help get over this issue. I am missing my DC++ sessions a lot.
Is any other info required?

Please help.

HI,

Question, do you both have/use routers, if so the DEFAULT GATEWAY is the IP of the router, when you do the add the route routine, put the default gateway as norm then the IP of your friends comp, hope this of help.
