New Router = high ping

I got a new belkin router f5d8230-4 and after setting it up the only server i play Day of Defeat on went from a 60 ping to 300... the ports are forwarded and other servers are normal... there are a few like this. What could the problem be?

And if you remove the router what happens?

If its just a few servers it happens to it sounds odd that it would be the router.

Could be that the router is placed too near to the modem and EMI is affecting the modem.
