I have recently returned to Uni and am having trouble connecting to my home wireless network which worked perfectly before Christmas.

My laptop's (Compak Presario) built in WLAN connects to the Belkin_G_Plus_MIMO_180170 router with an excellent signal strength but whenever I attempt to connect to the internet i get the message "the page cannot be displayed".

I can connect to the internet when using a cable from my laptop to the router but not via wireless.

Does anyone know what on earth the problem is?? Everyone else in my house can connect via wireless except myself.

I have exams soon and REALLY need the internet so any suggestions of how to fix this problem would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not a whizz with computers - jargon could be a problem.
Thanks, Ruth

Some suggestions for your wireless access problem..

1) Check the IP, netmask and gateway are set correctly.

2) Check that the DNS server is working well by resolving some of the domain names using nslookup.

3) You can also use ping to troubleshoot the problem..

Have fun... :rockin:
