Question on Switch

I use an Enterasys 48 Port switch for my activities at work. We normally set it up via the Fiber Port. We are needing to use the system over a shorter distance and the fiber will get too hot, so we are looking at using cat-5. Can I plug into the console from one switch to the other like we do with the Fiber? Please help.:wth:

Keep in mind that it is just a media used to transport data. Fiber, copper, air, doesn't matter to the switch. As long as you have the right configuration and are using the right types of cables all will be fine.

I am not familiar with that switch myself, but you will need a crossover cable to connect to switches. That is standard networking 101. As far as configuration goes with things like trunks, ehterchannels, etc. that is up to you.
