Crack a RAR?

Hi all... up late, trying to backup files for a format C: and have some RAR files I need to crack with backups of financial stuff. Bad thing... don't have the passwords anymore.

Anyone know a way to do it?

supposedly this trial version (http://www.download.com/RAR-Password-Cracker/3000-2092_4-10233630.html) has no limitations ...

You need a lot of CPU to run a cracker. On a P4 it'll take some time...

I'll try that out. I was hoping for a good software that someone had success with or whatever. We'll give it a whirl!!

I have one, I used it once last year but can't recall the name. :(

I have stuff at my bud's house while I'm living in the motel, so unfortunately that box of discs is not here- or I'd hunt it down.

Already did that first. As I stated previously, I was looking for real-world experiences since there are so many different flavors.

You can find the tools.....however...be prepared for potentially a long long LONG time...depending on the password..try a dictionary attack first in case the person used an easy password. However if they used a decent password (mixture of letters/numbers/characters/case sensitive)...can take you a few months to crack running it 24x7 on a FAST machine.
