Is there any simple/good program to watermark digital images?

prefferably free, but I wont mind shareware.

you could just use a text layer and set the opacity very low, kinda like this, not my desk by the way :)

or you can create a new image of whatever size you want your watermark to be... I'd say make it a little bigger than you want so you can scale it down later. Make it with a transparent background and then make the watermark in that image that you want... maybe some text that has your name, maybe put your signature, whatever. Now save that as just a native photoshop document. Open the picture you want to watermark. Go back to the watermak image, and in the layers palette, click the layer with your watermark and drag it into the photo's window and drop it. It'll now be a new layer on your image and you can drag it to wherever you want and use Edit>Transform (ctrl+t) to resize it (hold shift and move one of the corners to resize and keep it in proportion).

Now you have the watermark saved and whenever you want to watermark an image, just copy it to a new layer and in the new image.
If you're doing multiple images, you can make an action to do things in batch, but you can save that for later if you really need it.
