Hi, hopefully one of you have had a similar problem and managed to get it working :D

Both machines are running Windows XP w/ SP2.

Okay, I get my internet through a Sprint EVDO/CDMA Aircard, it works like a Dialup modem except it's a 1mbit connection, so basically DSL. It is running through a Compaq Armada 110 laptop, in the PCMCIA/Cardbus slot. This is the ICS Host machine.

The connection runs from the EVDO card to a Belkin G wireless router via a CAT5 cable. From there, it runs to the desktop via wireless to a Netgear USB wireless card, the desktop being the ICS client.

If you don't understand how I have it setup, you can see here:

(Yeah, I spelled Belkin wrong  )

Anyways, ICS works on this setup. Everything else works too, I can send / receive files between systems, etc. However, after I've been using ICS on the desktop (client) for, say, 20 minutes, it just disconnects the desktop (client) for no apparent reason. This happens no matter what I'm doing, browsing, playing MMO's, downloading something, just whatever. When it happens I unplug the wireless card from the client and replug it and it reconnects to the wireless router. And low and behold, I have internet on the client machine again. Note that when the internet drops I can still send and receive files between systems.

It shouldn't be the wireless connection causing the problems, the signal strength is excellent (5 bars) in Windows and always 95%+ in Ubuntu. Plus the wireless router is like 10 feet from the wireless card. There is nothing in the house that would interfere with the wifi connection.

I've searched for days to figure this out and I want to play UT and Lineage 2 and such on the client (since its uber powerful compared to the host laptop.) I'm stumped, never seen anything like it. It's like ICS has a mind of its own. I also can't find any registry entries under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE on the client OR the host that seem to have anything to do with ICS.

Anothing thing I thought might be important. ICS set the ethernet connection on the host system to 192.168.0.1 be default. The router is ALSO 192.168.0.1, because the ip range won't go any lower. I have the client set to DHCP and like I said it pulls in internet just fine, untill it disconnects and I have to renew the wireless to get the internet to come in again.

Any help would be appreciated :D

EDIT: Just to note, the EVDO card never drops connection on the laptop. I can use it for days without having to redial the connection or rebooting, so, it obviously isn't a problem on that end.

I managed to fix it. Turns out my wifi router had DHCP off, but it was still running it. Turning off NAT disabled DHCP fully and now it works.

Thanks!
