I was advised to come over to the Networking forums in helping configure my router. Trogers, was helping me in the Tweaking forums with my connection problems. Below is the tracert I showed him, which tipped him off. I have a Linksys Router WRT54G. He thinks the computers on my network are possibly chained together instead of seperate. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What is your wrt54g connected to...on the WAN side?

I have a wireless ISP so the wireless modem is connected to the internet port of the router. I'm hoping that's what you are asking for.

Getting there..wireless modem....I suspect it's accounting for the next 2 hops. With wireless..such as Motorola Canopy...including your router...you'll usually have 3x hops before you even get to your ISP's gateway to the internet.

192.168.1.1 is your router, the wrt54g
the next 2x IPs..the 192.168.128.xxx...are probably the subscriber module that you have, or on top of your building.
192.168.8.xxx...yet another hop..probably rooftop of the ISP.

Ah, so there's nothing unusal about that? Is it normal for the connection to be so jumpy??

The hops like you see aren't necessarily unusual, without knowing the exact layout of your ISP...only basing it on you mentioning "wireless"...since we do similar stuff here from the building I'm in.

The latency is a bit high however, IMO...I just pinged one of my clients that's on Motorola Canopy...22ms...3 hops from my laptop here.

My main problem is how jumpy it is. An example of a hop is 140, 50, 20. It can make just browsing the web problematic. I think i'll call up the ISP and see if there's anything they can do. Anyways, thanks a lot for your help yeoldestonecat!
