Firefox 2.0 Tweak

Hello, im running firefox 2.0 and I saw there is a speed tweak, and I did what it said and it downloads web pages faster. this is the tweak "Type about:config into address bar, set "network.http.pipelining" to "true"

Set "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to "true"

Set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to some number like 30. This means it will make 30 requests at once.

Lastly right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. Name it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set its value to "0". This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it receives."

My question is will this slow down or have any effect if I am running soulseek (a file sharing program)?
Also Is Firefox 2.0 better then IE7??

Better or not is an opinion, which ever you like more is the winner.

The tweaks shouldnt hurt your file sharing.

I like both IE7 and Firefox 2.0.. seems they both have pros and cons depending sometimes on the sites you visit.

DON'T set the max requests to a number higher than 8. Above that will be useless because majority of www servers won't allow that many simultaneous connections from the same host at the same time.

yeah but i use an optimized build so it was already enabled i just basically listed what i changed.
