Napster Alternatives

I have a question about a Napster potential shutdown.

I might not understand fully, but what is the big deal if it gets shut down.

Won't I be able to continue to use the napster client and access an opennap server using napigator?

Napster/RIAA can't stop us from using the napster client with another server (unless through legal action/scare techniques against opennap server owners), can they?

If not, then what's the big deal if Napster goes? Why even bother with alternatives?

I don't see why we aren't going to be able to use NAPIGATOR to connect to alternative servers.
There are other ways to get the music we want, such as CUTE MX ,GNUTELLA, and SCOUR EXCHANGE is running beta now.

To me the best place to get songs is getting a binary converter and subscribe to NEWSGROUPS, I download at leat 4-5 full albums a night.

As long as you don't upgrade to the newer version of Napster you should be able to use Napigator. From what I understand, the newer versions won't let you access the opennap servers through napigator.

I agree with ssjDOH, WinMX rocks. By far better than Napster or using Napigator, at least for what I use it for.

I tried newsgroups for music and there's so much BS to wade through. I can't seem to find ANY music links, much less full albums. Can you recommend a certain group please?
