Direct X drivers

Hi, does anyone know if it is possible to re-install a lower version of MS Direct X drivers? I recently installed their new Direct X 8.0A drivers from C-NET and ever since my system has been acting funny. My game "No one lives forever" doesn't run anymore and my quicktime viewer audio is just horrible. I tried to install DirectX 7.0 but it tells me there is no need because I have the latest version.

go to voodoofiles.com they have a unistaller for dx8 :) , it works great! you will have to look around the site though, i forget exactly where its at. hope this helps.

i just looked for it, its under tool/tweakes/cleaner

Try un-installing the dx 8 drivers from the add/remove programs applet in control panel before reinstalling dx 7
