AOL Earthlink and WinME can there be a worse combination ?

I'm trying to run Earthlink and AOL6 on my new computer with ME installed. AOL seems to be trying to share TCP/IP with Earthlink and vice versa which is causing AOL to hang up when it tries to log on to it's server. Reinstalling AOL doesn't solve it - all it does is cause Earthlink to crash as well. It is possible to seperate AOL TCP/IP from Earthlink running on ME (I've seen it done)by reconfiguring the registry but I can't remember what the registry settings should be. Does anyone out there know how to do this?
