svchost.exe error

Hello-
I keep getting the "Generic Host Process for Win32 Services" error. Ive done a lot of reserch and apparently its somehting to do with svchost.exe. It keeps creating these files in my Temp folder on my C drive. Here is my hijack this log. Please help! Ive tried all sorts of scans. Spybot, fixblast, haxfix. Id love any tips!

1. Please read Microsoft's possible fix (http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=894391) and install the patch, even if you already have it, reinstall it.

2. Go to Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Administrative Tools, and click on "Event Viewer", please post any information that could be related to your error.

3. Post a HijackThis (http://www.majorgeeks.com/HijackThis_d3155.html) log.

4. Make sure you are malware freeby doing ALL of the following:

Prior to doing anything XP users MUST disable System Restore!!! You can re enable it after you are clean.

a. Download, install and run CrapCleaner (http://www.ccleaner.com) to remove any temporary and junk files.

b. Download Ad-Aware SE 1.06 (http://www.majorgeeks.com/download506.html) and set it up as shown HERE (http://www.drtweak.com/index.php?topic=40.0).

c. Download SpyBot Search & Destroy 1.4 (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=download) and set it up as shown HERE (http://www.drtweak.com/index.php?topic=41.0).

d. Download SUPERAntiSpyware (http://www.superantispyware.com), update and do a full system scan.

e. Download AVG Anti-Spyware 7.5 (http://www.ewido.net/en/download), update and do a full system scan.

f. Download and run CWShredder (http://www.trendmicro.com/cwshredder).

g. Do a FREE online virus scan from BitDefender Online Scan (http://www.bitdefender.com/) and remove all that it finds.

h. If you aren't currently using a firewall or anti-virus profram then I suggest you install Comodo Firewall (http://www.personalfirewall.comodo.com/) and Active Virus Shield (http://www.activevirusshield.com/antivirus/freeav/index.adp?) - (setup instructions HERE (http://www.drtweak.com/index.php?topic=157.0)), both are FREE and offer excellent protection.

i. It is a good idea to use Sysinternal's Autoruns (http://www.sysinternals.com/Utilities/Autoruns.html) to make sure you have removed all of the malware.

j. It it also a good idea to run the Winsock Fix (http://www.snapfiles.com/get/winsockxpfix.html) to repair your TCP/IP stack. (you will have to redo any tweaks for your connection if this is used)

k. If after doing ALL of the above and you are still having problems please scan with HijackThis 1.99.1 (http://www.majorgeeks.com/download3155.html) as shown HERE (http://www.drtweak.com/index.php?topic=58.0) and post a log here in this forum for us to look at.

l. Download SpywareBlaster 3.5.1 (http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html) and set it up as shown HERE (http://www.drtweak.com/index.php?topic=42.0) to help stay spyware free.

m. Make sure you have ALL of the latest Windows Updates.

5. What changes have you made to your computer since this started to happen? i.e. Installed any new software, hardware etc.?

I downloaded all those programs and waited for them to finish. They seemed to find alot and delete a lot of bad files, but after rebooting I still have the same error pop up constantly. the problem seemed to start when I moved and hooked up to my roomates wireless internet. Did all this start when you starting connecting to your roommates wireless internet? If so try changing the encryption type in his router.

yeah it did start when I hooked up to her wireless, but we dont have access to the router. Its just in our buliding, and for whatever reason they dont require that you have a password to log onto it.
And regardless, even if i did change the encryption, wouldnt there still be some sort of virus on my computer causing these errors?

With your situation I don't think it's malware, it's the fact that your wireless chipset has some incompatibilities with the wireless router and can't obtain an IP from the router. Simple solution, don't connect to that wireless network.

well that causes a bit of a problem since I live here and need to have internet access. i am able to connect to the internet, though. and i still get the error message even with my wireless is disabled and im not connected. so with that info, do you still think its the wireless thats causing the problem?
