i have the wireless adapter for my 360, i was just wondering if this would affect my latency on live, compared to having an ethernet cord. Hope someone can help me

In general wireless connections can be laggier than wired connections.

Well if you can do both and want wireless try it, if its too laggy try a wired connection and see if that improves it.

If the lag is comming from MS's server, or whoever hosts the live system then both connections may be the same.

Definately not wireless, ethernet only for games.
Unless you have some OC3 connection :D

You can see the ping on LIVE, tho LIVE ping is not accurate at all, when game is loading and you will see something like "waiting for opponent and it starts counting 8, 7, 6, 5, .... you know its gonna be VERY laggy and you better quit game before it starts.
