IE 5.5 Diconne3cts itself

On a computer running WIN98SE, with a internal modem, on connecting to my ISP IE5.5
disconnects itself (sometimes takes only seconds, in other instaces a couple of minutes). Any idea?

Is the internal modem a cable/DSL modem or is it 56k?

It's a internal 56k SUPRA (the modem's OK)

are u just browse or downloading? what about your tempery inter net files have u del. thoses? Or are u just sitting idle? Dou have it set to send your temp internet files to your floppy drive? what about email any probmels there? :p :p :p

The problem only arises when I use the browser IE5.5, other wise the connection remains, no problem at all with Outlook or any other program
