i have a problem with my brand new DI-524, i haave broadband internet. here is my scenario

Broadband:
client IP : 10.128.**.*4
subnet: 255.255.255.**
Gateway IP: 10.128.**.*3

DNS:
195.**.**.**
195.**.**.**

do i put these settins in the WAN interface of the router (DI-524)

and put 192.168.0.1 in the LAN inteface of the same router (DI-524)

i go to my laptop connect through wireless with dhcp settings from the router, and i include the DNS.

i cant browse the internet....
i can sussfully loginto the admin interface of the router but can browse the net.

i try the ping functionality in the router, to ping the gateway, no luck Gateway IP: 10.128.**.*3

however if i plug the broadband cable directly to my laptop, there is no prob, i can browse perfectly...

might that be something having to do with crossover and staright cables, (to my knowlegde the router supports both. (Media Type)

i called and asked if there is any MAC restriction, they said no.

ur help is really appreciated

What type of broadband do you have?

If cable, it's more common set your WAN interface to "Obtain Auto". Depending on the type of modem you have..you might have to power off your modem for several minutes so it forgets the MAC of your PC. Then power up the modem while it's plugged into the WAN interface of your new router (router powered on)...allow cable modem to synch up..then power cycle router...should be online.

If DSL..the more common type of setup is PPPoE...which must be configured in the router. Or if bridged DSL, set to "obtain auto" just like cable. Some static IP business accounts with DSL requires you to plug in the WAN info like you did.

The LAN interface of the router should be all automatic, default would do fine.
