Up until now I`ve been using Sygate`s Personal Firewall, for both myself and peoples PC`s and laptops that I clean up/rid of virii/malware and generally just sort out.

Today I fing that Sygate has seemingly been taken over by Symantec but I`m not a great fan of Norton/Symantec stuff.

I now need a decent easy to use/user friendly Software firewall to reccomend to people/install for people/use myself that your average joe down the street can get to grips with.

I can`t see many people opting for the IPCop box option can you!?!?

P.S. DEFINITELY NO ZONEALARM!!!

P.P.S IT`S GOTTA BE FREE!! lol

Many thanx again

The only two free firewall programs I know of are ZoneAlarm and Adorons, both of which I'd highly reccomend.

Comodo is excellent.

Agree..stay away from ZA.

Kerio and Tiny are a few of the other free ones.

Just had a stab at Comodo....

Looks really nice :thumb: but just wondering just how resource hungry it is?? If at all:wth: :wth:

I want some info on user experiences, i.e. what`s good and why and what`s not so good and why...

In fact we can probably do without the not so good info:D

Thanx

It's fairly light...I tried it out for a while on my laptop. I think at that time it was using 25-28 ish megs.....a newer version was due out which was supposed to lighten memory consumption even more..I think it's down around 20 now.

Has a nice scan feature..will scour your PC to make a list of trusted software, so that the first few days are much more "nag free". By "nag free"..I mean all those prompts you usually get the first few days of running a software firewall..as it keeps prompting for answers of what to do

Lots of goodies to read about over at Wilders...
