Not me. Just updated.
i just did about 8 security patches this afternoon, so far no troubles to report.
what issues are you haveing ?

Ok. I updated 5 machines in the last two days. 2 XP and 3 W2k and have not had any problems that I am aware of.

Machine is taking a long time to reboot. Specifically, Nod32.
I also had to rebuild my TCP IP stack and to top it all off...I had to reregister Windows XP.

reregister as in the validation tool? there was a kinda recent validation tool in the update list.

Yep....Thanks for the reply.
I didn't have any problems with it but I had to get my service back first. I'd still like to figure out why Nod32 is taking so long to load.

and in msconfig, how much stuff is set to start up, anythign odd or new looking?

When Nod32 pops up, it used to take about 15 seconds. It now takes around 55 seconds.
Nope, nothing unusual in msconfig. Nod32, soundcard stuff...

I noticed a little slow down on one machine after these last updates but after a few more reboots it picked back up not sure what it was.

Good on all rigs...and using NOD naturally.
That initial splash screen is while it loads the services and checks for updates. Your update is set to "Choose Automatically"?

Yes, updated a bunch the other day and a handful came back with various problems all due to some windows services being disabled.
If your having problems check here first. This happened to me on about 5 machines out of about 30 so far.

I did 14 machines today (Windows 2000) and didn't have any problems that I was aware of.

The only problem I have had with windows updates as of late is the whole "Checking for the latest updates for your computer..." seems to take along time.

Repair tab was greyed out. Checking out my firewall, Nod32 wasn't included. That's fixed now. Thanks for the headsup. Also, IMON wasn't working. It's fine now. Thanks for the suggestions, Brian!

I did my wireless connection kept going in and out so I system restored it and that fixed the problem.

Interesting. One of the machines that I updated is wireless and I'm not aware of any problems with it.

maybe its cause I have Netgear stuff. Or its a weird fluke who knows it is microsoft.
In past few months the term msupdate is sort of an oxymoron. I haven't installed an update in at least 6 months & I am no more at risk or insecure than anyone with all current updates given the way my lan is setup.

It hosed the bluetooth sw (usb dongle) and I had to reinstall - wouldn't allow secure connections until I did. Said my file transfer service was unavailable...

I reinstalled the updates and haven't had a problem strange very strange.
I updated, I think Friday. (Windows 2k Pro, no previous problems) IE has encounter several errors today and restarted itself each time...
I haven't had time to investigate, but I hadn't been having problems with IE before...
Dammit! It did it twice while trying to post this! I'll be kickin' it's butt tomorrow... :mad:

After installing ms-critical update KB918899 internet explorer would crash at certain sites with "internet explorer encountered an error and must be restarted " after researching I found that it is a known problem that microsoft is working on, I also found a temp workaround, open up IE, then go to tools/internet options/advanced tab/ and deselect "use HTTP 1.1", then reboot (very important),here's some more info. about getting the hot fix but you have to call MS to get the link and a password, I did this and everthing is running great.

Why should any of us have to call for MS' screwup? They should put their damn hotfix on the windows update site or somewhere anyone that is having the problem can get it.
