program shuts down

I'm having problems with my PC, every time i try to open My Videos (and others) folder with a program (any/all) it shuts the program down. i can open the folder up by clicking on the my docs folder and it fine.

Have you scanned with a good updated antivirus program? I see you only have service pack 1....so you're vulnerable to issues.

Free online scans at trendmicro.com and kapersky.com at least start with those.

I was wrong. When i open my documents (has no video file in it) it's fine, i open my videos (has a video in it) and it shuts the window/folder. and put sp2 and afew of those anti-virus (not at the same time) and it hasn't help

Could be a codec issue, if you don't have the proper codecs to view the video this could happen. Try installing K-Lite Codec Pack (http://www.free-codecs.com/download/K_Lite_Codec_Pack.htm) then reboot and try opening it again.

It appears to have been the codec when i reistalled k-lite it started working again. So thanks alot for the help both of you.
