alright i was taking a look at 3 computers by a neighbor up the street, and they have them networked with a router, and the best pc they had was freezing on AOL. So after AOL crashed several times it froze the pc and then when it rebooted, Kaspersky found some Trojan.Generic thing in the AOL/unwise.exe when you uninstall it, once they got that popup the pc hard drive fried. So now it doesnt even restore or clean install xp =/
then i looked at the pc next to it and found that Kaspersky has found the same Trojan.Generic virus in unwise.exe (same with the 3rd computer)
but they didnt seem 2 crash or freeze after it was found/removed, but after it was removed the 2 pcs now have the internet explorer closing at every page. i tried reinstalling internet explorer and checked for updates, spyware, malware, viruses, etc but came up clean. so now im guessing its something else, when i looked at the hijackthis log it was clean and i think it may have something to do with the java issue that i keep seeing when i search google for an answer
can anyone suggest what i can do, and i dont think im gonna reinstall AOL on any of the pcs anytime in the future for the moment, i also did a Dial-A-Fix to repair the IE and it worked for the session until i restarted the computer
so as far as the first pc goes im getting it a new hard drive, for the other 2 i think im going to try and uninstall java completely and reinstall it manually and see what happens
