You don't say which OS but generally speaking, make sure that your COMPUTER NAME is the one given to by @home
e.g. CR22****-a, with W2K I use the default workgroup name "WORKGROUP". MS's
ICS or Internet Connection Wizard should detect all the necessary settings. If that doesn't work phone @home support and they can walk you through it - in one version of Win 98 there was as problem known to @home.

yeah type in the computer name and for workgroup I usually put @home network dunno if that plays a role

Also refresh your IP if you see that you can't connect to the net.
That's what I usually do

With Win 2k tho it detected everything by itself, I still had to put the computer name tho

you need to go to start settings then control panel then double klick on network then klick on the tab for identification and write down your computer name the work group should be @home then klick on the tab that says configuration in the big white box there should be a green icon that is your NETWORK adapter not the AOL and dial up crap you need to write down what type of nic you have you also neet to double click on where it says system in the control panel and then the device manager tab and in that big white box you should see a green icon that says network adapters click on the plus "+" sign when it expands make sure the network card is listed in there too and it matches the one that was in network config and write it down then before you format make sure you have the drivers for your nic card if it is an @home installed card they should be on the cd or a floppy disk left by the installer browse the cd to see if your nic drivers are on it after you r sure you know the type of card and have the proper drivers you can go for it
