Hi all.
I'm trying to set up a wireless point to point bridge, and am having a few problems.
Specifics of set up.
Cable Modem to linksys wireless G router, hardwired to a Demarc HPG RWO-plus with an omni directional antenna.
250' away I have another HPG RWP-Plus, which is hardwired to a linksys wireless access point.
The first Demarc unit has an IP address of 192.168.1.250, the 2nd unit I have set the IP address to 192.168.1.251.
These 2 units are powered via POE.
At the access point, I am unable to connect to the internet. I am pulling a 169 IP.
If I plug directly into the POE, I can ping the demarc unit.
I cannot ping the unit that is 250' away though, unless I go to the unit, and connect to the linksys g series wireless router.
I have the 2 Demarc units set as follows.
IP Modes are set to bridge
Wan modes are set to Bridge
The bssid of the master unit is the mac id of the slave, the bssid of the slave unit is the mac id of the master.
I have not done anything with the access point so far as configuring it.
For the life of me, I can't figure out what the problem is.
One more note. If I set the master unit to access point, I can connect 250' away with my laptop. The reason that I'm putting in the 2nd unit and the access point is so that I can surf inside the building at 250' away.
Any thoughts?
Thanks all.
