Uninstall IE 6, how?

How do I uninstall IE6 in W2k? I want to go back to 5.5, but no idea how I uninstall 6.0 =(

On my computer win98se, it's in the add/remove programs. I'm not familiar with win2k... It should be easy though.. but you should go back to IE 5 instead of IE 5.5.. it's much faster and has fewer problems, in my own opinion, it's up to you. I hope this helps :(

BTW, why are you uninstalling 6? What's wrong with it? We can possibly help you fix whatever's wrong with it :D

IE 6 is in my W2K's add and remove.

I downloaded it from windowsupdate, and it doesn't show up in my Add/Remove. I just liked 5.5 better, IE6 keeps crashing when visiting some websites.

Hmm.. Only if a downgrade worked (installing IE 5.5). There's a way to find the uninstall path for IE.. it's in the registry.. I just dont remember the path.. Anyone remember or know what Im talking about? Do a search, like ie uninstall or something. You might find it like that... Windows Update lets you update to a beta?? Hmm.. I downloaded mine from cnet, but it installed itself Microsoft way.. like an upgrade. :confused: Try what I listed above. Hope that helps. Good luck

Yea, Internet Explorer 6.0 preview. Hmm, searching for ie uninstall didn't find anything, you know about where in the registry it is?

If you have it installed over 5.5. I will let you know when you uninstall it. It will go back to the 5.5 not the 5.0. That came with 2000 . If it messing up now. Be carefull when you uninstall it. I did this on my son's Because he was haveing proublem s with it. I had use the uninstall for it but it still messed up the 5.5 sp1 .Which was fine before I installed Ie 6. When uninstalled it left the ie5.5 mess up big time. I had to re download the 5.5 sp1 and run it over top the 5.5 sp1 already installed. I got lucky and it fixed it. But I few of my friends who did the same thing did not. They had to reformat and reinstall windows. Ie 6 at this time is just a plugin for the 5.5. Check it out and you will see what I mean. Hmm, I believe I was able to uninstall it by running some file in c:\program files\internet explorer\uninstall because the next time i Rebooted my computer, IE was gone =)

My install of IE6 v 6.00.2463.0052 keeps prompting me for user ID and password at 131.107.85.110 anytime I try to go to Windows update. Any clue???
