Disable my desktop background

i've been around internet and i got crashed by some sort of trojan attack( including spyware, malyware and stuff...)because i forgot turn my antivirus on
but i did immediately i plug off my cable..then i scan my PC and i show 15 trojan, after that i restarted my PC and did full scan my PC, it had 53 trojan+virus+maleware...i though it was over but the real problem is i couldnt display my bachground anymore, seemed like the crash disable it, so how can i enable it, i tried to fix registry, system restore...didnt even work out.:confused:

We'd first want to find out which specific trojan you have. Often with Windows desktop hijacks..it's a variant of Spysheriff/SpyAxe/Spyfalcon/Smitfraud...all related.

I'd read through them..see if that helps you narrow down which you might have...

Some things to run...after you disable XP system restore...and scanners will usually yield best results when running scans in safe mode.

CCleaner
Spyware Search and Destroy..install, update, immunize..scan & clean
Adaware...install, update, scan & clean
Ewido trial...install, update, scan & clean

Online scans at Kapersky, BitDefender, and Trend Micro (free web based scans) Good to get other opinions as to what you may have.

well im sure that i wasnt infected by these Spysheriff/SpyAxe/Spyfalcon/Smitfraud...and i tried to boot from Cd but it showed me an error (cant copy or write from C:\)i thnik that kind of virus disable some function in my PC, the problem is i dont know where to find out the dangerous. , got no idea where it come from

I would bet that it is a Smitfraud variant that you are infected with. In any case you should run the Smitfraud Fix (http://siri.urz.free.fr/Fix/SmitfraudFix.zip), just follow the directions in the test file with the download. Then I would suggest doing the following:

Prior to doing anything XP users MUST disable System Restore!!! You can re enable it after you are clean.

1. Download, install and run CrapCleaner (http://www.ccleaner.com) to remove any temporary and junk files.

2. Download Ad-Aware SE 1.06 (http://www.majorgeeks.com/download506.html) and set it up as shown HERE (http://www.drtweak.com/index.php?topic=40.0).

3. Download SpyBot Search & Destroy 1.4 (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=download) and set it up as shown HERE (http://www.drtweak.com/index.php?topic=41.0).

4. Download and run CWShredder 2.19 (http://www.trendmicro.com/cwshredder).

5. Download Ewido Anti-Malware 4.0 (http://www.ewido.net/en/download).

6. Do a FREE online virus scan from BitDefender Online Scan (http://www.bitdefender.com/) and remove all that it finds.

7. It it also a good idea to run the Winsock Fix (http://www.snapfiles.com/get/winsockxpfix.html) to repair your TCP/IP stack. (you will have to redo any tweaks for your connection if this is used)

8. If after doing ALL of the above and you are still having problems please scan with HijackThis 1.99.1 (http://www.majorgeeks.com/download3155.html) as shown HERE (http://www.drtweak.com/index.php?topic=58.0) and post a log here in this forum for us to look at.

9. Download SpywareBlaster 3.5.1 (http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html) and set it up as shown HERE (http://www.drtweak.com/index.php?topic=42.0) to help stay spyware free.

10. Make sure you have ALL of the latest Windows Updates.
