Hi;
I have a mixed wireless and Ethernet Netork setup in my house using the following:
House:
DLInk G604T Broadband Router
1 x PC using DWLG122 USB Wireless Adaptor
1 x PC using a Bufflalo PCMCI Card
1 x PC using Ethernet
Garage
1 x PC using Buffalo PCI Card (Intermittent signal dependant upon weather).
I would like to increase my signal to the Garage, I have been investigating various methods directional antennas and such and was about to buy a DLink 2100AP but have just received a BT Wireless Hub as part of an 8MB upgrade and now need some help.
If I replace my DLink Router with the BT Wireless Hub can I use the G604T as an access point negating the need to buy a 2100AP.
My intended setup would be
BT Hub next to the main BT socket
Ethernet to my main PC
Laptop and other house PC using WiFi
And run an Ethernet cable to the nearest point to my garage connected to either a 2100AP or the D Link G604T set up as an AP.
Connected to this AP will be a home made outdoor Omni Directional Antenna. The Garage PC will also have a homemade Omni directional Antenna connected to the Buffalo PCI Wireless card.
If required I can put a Jpg of my intended setup on my Web Page which may be a bit clearer.
P.S. The homemade Omni will be made from HDF400, with an LMR200 flylead attached to an RP SMA pigtail.
