Hello All,
I've recently purchased a DLink DLS-300T and a Belkin Pre N Router but no matter what i try i cannot get the router and the modem to talk to one another.
If i connect directly to the Modem (via ethernet) i can connect to the internet, but when i add the router into the mix i find that the internet (and the browser interface to the modem) are no longer available.
The routers browser interface is available via the wireless connection i have on my laptop but it says (in big red writing) No Internet i the top right hand corner.
I have tried the modem in bridge mode and added all of the PPPoE setting (username etc..) to the router and this didnt work. I even tried setting the router to an access point with its own range and that didnt work either.
Can any one confirm that the combination of the two devices will in fact work and if so, how do i get them working?!?!?
Many thanks from a desperate man.

Hello again,
THought it might help to add a bit more infor.
The Modem's IP is as default set to : 192.168.1.1
and the Routers IP is as default set to : 192.168.2.1
The modem is set to dish out IPs (DHCP enabled).
Once again, many thanks to you guys for your help. :thumb:

Hard to say how your DLink is configured...it appears to come in several different setups.

When your PC is connected to it....what IP address does your PC get? Public, or private IP such as a 192 address?

Read the following:
Using the D-Link DSL-300T with a router
Configuring the DSL-300T to use with an Ethernet router such as the Linksys WRT-54G is very simple. Simply connect the Ethernet port of the modem to the Internet port of the router, and ensure that the router is configured to get its Internet IP address via DHCP.
Initially when you first connect the modem to the router, it will hand the router an IP address in the range 192.168.1.x. This means you need to ensure your router does not become confused by using the 192.168.1.x range for its LAN interface. If it does you should change the LAN IP range of the router for example to 192.168.0.x.
The actual configuration of the DSL-300T, can take place from a computer connected to the router, simply by opening the web page http://192.168.1.1/ and setting the modem up as shown above. Then once the modem is configured and has authenticated with the ISP the Internet IP address on the router should become the one your ISP has assigned you. Some routers may need you to manually trigger the renewal of the IP address on the Internet interface, either via their web configuration or switching the unit off and on again.

Right, I finally got the wireless network up and running last Monday but have been too busy to put the fix up. Anyway, for anyone that might be experiencing the same issues here is what I did...
1) I connected via Ethernet cable to the dlink. Once in I set the connection type of the modem to Bridge and then disabled the DHCP server.
2) Then I saved my settings on the modem.
3) Now I connected (again with the Ethernet cable) to the Belkin router. Once in I set the DNS default gateway to the IP address of the dlink (192.168.1.1 I believe).
4) I then set up the PPPoE connection settings for my ISP on the router.
5) I then changed the DHCP settings so that they would dish out IPs in the range 192.168.0.2 to 192.168.0.4 ( I only have two machines on my network)
6) Then I saved my settings on the router.
Basically that’s all you have to do to get them talking to each other. After I got all that sorted out I enabled the WEP security feature on the Belkin and then changed the default channel from 7 to 14 as I was getting interference from other networks.
Hope this helps anyone in a similar situation....
Thanks again for all you help guys...
