First of all im glad i been here at speedguide. Its good sites thats have lots of

im not very pro with the tweaking so anybody can help me...pls.

I have dsl 206U Usb Modem....i know its crap but i dont have a choice :(

my problem is..i got 1000/384 dsl line but i didn't know how to set optimal
configuration for my connection with TCPoptimizer.i already try with default
setting but its doesn't help.

Could anyone give me Manual Setting?

SpeedGuide.net TCP/IP Analyzer

TCP properties for IP = 60.49.79.133 ()
Browser/OS = Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; SV1; .NET CLR 2.0.50727)
Notes: Read the Analyzer FAQ if the above is not your IP address.

TCP options string = 020405a00103030001010402

MTU = 1480
MTU is optimized for Windows XP PPoE DSL broadband. If not, consider raising MTU to 1500 for optimal throughput.

MSS = 1440
MSS is optimized for Windows XP PPPoE DSL broadband. If not, consider raising your MTU value.

Default TCP Receive Window (RWIN) = 64800
RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 0 bits
Unscaled TCP Receive Window = 64800

RWIN is a multiple of MSS
Other RWIN values that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:
506880 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 8)
253440 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 4)
126720 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2)
63360 (MSS x 44)

bandwidth * delay product (Note this is not a speed test):

Your TCP Window limits you to: 2592 kbps (324 KBytes/s) @ 200ms
Your TCP Window limits you to: 1036.8 kbps (129.6 KBytes/s) @ 500ms

MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = ON

Time to live left = 56 hops
TTL value is ok.

Timestamps (RFC1323) = OFF
Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON

IP type of service field (RFC1349) = 00000000 (0)

and do i need to set Qos in network connection ? i already remove it. :rtfm:

pls help me someone!!!!!!!!!!!!

THUNDERCATS!!!

Try an Rwin(TCP Recieve Window in SG optimizer) of 129600.

And so your suppose to get 1000/384, what are you actually getting?

thx for reply YARDofSTUF.

i try like what you said. now im getting around 750/140 kbps.

last time is worse, even doesn't reach 500 kbps.

so could you give me more tweak what settings suppose i to put in advanced settings in TCpoptimizer.

and do i need Qos Packet Sheduler ?

Nah, I usually disable QoS or uninstall it during XP's setup even.

your only getting 140kbps down, and its suppose to be 384, wow, it sounds like you might be out a good distance from their central office, or terminal thats delivering your connection.

theres pretty much nothing to do for upload.

other settings I tend to change in the optimizer are the max connections per server.

Usually set it to 20 and 10, for top to bottom, thats good for IE, if you use firefox, then in the address bar type about:config and hit enter, then in filter type network.

Around the middle of the page you should see a few network.http.max settings, 2 connections and 2 persistant connections, have mine set to 40, 16, 12, and 6, again top to bottom.

I dont know if those will help, or hurt, you can play with the numbers yourself, but dont go too high, as some sites limit the amount of conenctions allowed at one time and you could hog them all up lol

Make sure you're testing to a server that's:
a) close by (low'ish ping)
b) not loaded
c) not throttled

I've found if you set the rwin to high some sites don't cope well & your throughput bursts up & down.

Hi Guvnor:), you need to remove your IP address from your first post. Try the following in the TCPOptimizer:

General Settings tab:

Custom settings - check
Modify All Network Adapters - check
network adapter selection - your NIC
MTU - 1480
TTL - 128
TCP Receive Window - 31680
MTU Discovery - Yes
Black Hole Detect - No
Selective Acks - Yes
Max Duplicate ACKs - 3
TCP 1323 Options:
Windows Scaling - uncheck
Timestamps - uncheck

Advanced Settings tab:

Max Connections per Server - 8
Max Connections per 1.0 Server - 10
LocalPriority - 5
Host Priority - 6
DNSPriority - 7
NetbtPriority - 8
Lan Browsing speedup - optimized
QoS: NonBestEffortLimit - 0
ToS: DisableUserTOSSetting - 0
ToS: DefaultTOSValue - 92
MaxNegativeCacheTtl - 0
NetFailureCacheTime - 0
NegativeSOACache Time - 0
LAN Request Buffer Size - 32768

Then select "Apply Changes" and reboot to take effect.

VERY IMPORTANT TO DO THE FOLLOWING:

1. Under your LAN connection - properties - general tab, uninstall all the protocols there that you do not need. For a stand alone pc all you need is Internet Protocol TCP/IP.

2. Open IE and select tools - internet options - connections - LAN settings, make sure NOTHING there is checked.

3. ALWAYS connect your modem via ethernet (NIC) and make sure you have the latest drivers for your NIC from the manufacturer and set your duplex mode to "auto". If you are using a router make sure you have the latest firmware.

4. Clean out your temporary internet files with CrapCleaner (http://www.ccleaner.com).

5. Power cycle your modem i.e. unplug it for at least 15 seconds.

6. Download, update and scan with SpyBot S&D 1.4 (http://majorgeeks.com/download2471.html), Ad-Aware SE 1.06 (http://lavasoft.element5.com/support/download) & ewido anti-spyware 4.0 (http://www.ewido.net/en/download) to remove any spyware then install and update SpywareBlaster 3.5.1 (http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html) to stay spyware FREE.

7. Make sure you do the faster web page tweak in our Help & Tips (http://www.broadbandnuts.com/index.php?page=7) page.

8. If you aren't currently using a firewall then I suggest you install Kerio Personal Firewall 2.1.5 (http://www.321download.com/LastFreeware/page7.html#Kerio%20Personal%20Firewall), it's FREE and uses next to no resources.

9. Do a FREE online virus scan from BitDefender Online Scan (http://www.bitdefender.com/) and remove all that it finds.

10. Make sure you have ALL of the latest Windows Updates.

11. Just an FYI, if you are using Zone Alarm for a firewall it can noticeably drop your speeds.

:D
