i recently had my browser hijacked,what i the program you people use .please?

Prevention.... Kaspersky, SpyBot & SpywareBlaster and don't use IE, use Firefox or Opera.

Ahh..."Prevention"....

Yup...SpywareBlaster is good. It's free, it's not a removal tool, but more of..well...think of it as a condom for your browser. :thumb:

Install it, update it, set to protect. It protects IE and FF. Every now and then..check for updates.

Keep updating Spybot also...each time you "update" it...you need to go hit "Immunize" again..so it will add those defs to the immunize features.

Keep all your windows updates. If you use IE..use the Google Toolbar for added popup prevention.

Use a GOOD antivirus that has good browser/internet protection...like Kapersky or NOD32. They are strong in prevention of all types of malware, not just viruses.

Stay away from P2P programs..they do nothing but inject problems into your system.

For people that can't stop hitting "bad" sites and content...I'm really getting into fiddling with some *nix router products. The main reason...is some of them have additional plugins..which have strong virus/malware/content filtering protection. Your "router" will stop the bad guys before it even gets to your system. I played with a plugin for IPCop recently, called "Copfilter". It has ClamAV, SpamAssasin, Snort, and it's own special content filter which stops phishing, browser exploits, and malware at the door.
