Hi,

Just for grins I decided to do a tracert to the DNS servers I am allowed to use with Comcast. All of them take a minimum of 10 hops to get to the DNS server............. That includes a few ringers that I added at the recommendation of some learned people, 4.2.2.1 - 4.2.2.6, etc. Surely, there is a way to get Comcast to change its routing tables. Is there?

The routers are obviously out of my control since they're on the other side of the Comcast IP.

TIA.

Cheers!

It's something that's in the middle of changing....as they're upgrading their network all over the place, adding the powerboost features, and ramping up to the next Docsis level. So when these upgrades hit your area, you'll probably see some changes anyways.

They're not known for having the best in DNS services...but for the past few months I've been running on their DNS..it's been fine for me. (I usually run on my own DNS server at home..down for the moment though)
