Internet light blinking...

I am using Comcast (trying to anyway) with an RCA DCM425C modem connected to my computer via enthernet...although Comcast said everything is working great on their end and that it is registered with them, they read it was receiving no signal. And it is not...it has been in the "tunning" stage for ever. They beleive the modem may be broken (diagnosis over the phone...) but I was wondering if there are any alternatives...

Is it their modem? If it is tell them its crap and that you would like them to repalce it with one of their motorola modems.
