I am looking for a programm that allows you to change the bitrate and the frequency of a wave file.

For instance: I have a wave file with 128 kbps and 44100 Hz
and i wanna change it in 256 kbps and 44100 Hz without converting the wave into another audio file....
Is this possible and what programm do I need for it.

If it isn't possible to do that, is it than possible to do it with mp3 files
I mean can i convert mp3's into wave files so the bitrate and frequency will be bigger after the conversion.

I guess I'm not following what you mean.

Wav files come in all sorts of flavors but not 128 bit or 256 bit. Sounds like an mp3 file to me.

You can use a program like CoolEdit to do almost anything with a sound file you like.

Keep in mind, that if you change an mp3 from 128 bitrate to 256 bitrate, you gain nothing in sound quality. In fact, you'll lose a little info in the conversion. But yes you can do that with no problem. Simply convert the mp3 to wav and reconvert back to to a 256 bitrate mp3. http://www.speedguide.net/ubb/biggrin.gif

UcHh, no app will be able to increase the quality of something that was originally recorded at a lesser quality. I.E., an MP3 that was originally encoded at 96kbps will only truly become 128kbps if your re-encode it form the original source, and if the originally source is of 128kbps quality or higher to begin w/. Can't add something that's not there to begin w/.

UcHh>>use sound recorder.. start menu, programs, access, entertainment, sound recorder

open the wav file, then choose file, save as, and then hit change button, then select what you want then hit ok and then ok again to save.

I have convert a wave file ((size file 22mb) 128kbps 44100 Hz) into a higher bitrate and frequency ((size file 4mb) 320kbps 48000 Hz), but i convert it with a mpeg layer-3 division, thats why the size is smaller
My question is, if i burn wave files with a mpeg layer-3 division on an audio cd, is it than possible to play it on my stereo.

And if its possible to play wave files with a mpeg layer-3 division on my stereo... i could burn more songs on my CD, but the problem is:
If I wanna make audio CD with my burnsoftware (Nero burning rom) than the burning depends on the playtime of the wave files which I wanna burn.
Does somebody maybe know if there is a burnsoftware that depends not on the playtime, so i can still play it on my stereo
this will save a lot of money

Even though you may see your new conversion as wav. its an mp3 file.

CD's that will play on your stereo have to be 16 bit with a sample rate of 44.1 khz. Thats redbook audio standard.Mpeg layer-3= mp3. http://www.speedguide.net/ubb/smile.gif
