how do i find out the EXACT address of my mail and news server if im using @Home? i tried "ping www" and i got the following results:

Pinging home-www.excite.com [199.172.146.81] with 32 bytes of data:

Reply from 199.172.146.81: bytes=32 time=40ms TTL=247
Reply from 199.172.146.81: bytes=32 time=41ms TTL=247
Reply from 199.172.146.81: bytes=32 time=40ms TTL=247

would the server be "home-www.excite.com"? i tried putting that into Outlook and it said that it was unable to connect to the server. how else could i find out the server address besides callimg Comcast and asking those *******S?

yes i just figured that out, on the review of the linksys router on speedguide.net he says to ping www, so i tried mail and it worked fine. thanks anyway bro!

Here's another tip to get alternate mail server addresses: goto www.mailstart.com (http://www.mailstart.com) and type in your email address, but type in an incorrect password. It will error out and come back with a list of alternative mail servers you can use. Pretty much any of those servers will work http://www.speedguide.net/ubb/smile.gif
