I have had Adelphia powerlink for about a year now. I had 2 computers running on it for about 8 months with WIN98 ICS. I tried to hook up a 3rd computer to the LAN, and what was the second computer lost it's ability to log onto the enail server, adelphia.net. napster.com & a few others, but it can still surf 99.99% of the internet. What gives?, can adelphia detect a LAN and do something to shut it down on their end? I bought a D-link DI-704 internet firewall & gateway. When Hooked up to the surfboard 3100 cable modem, I can see via the led's that the router & modem are comunicating, however using the built in web browser setup in the router, I can not get the d-link to lease an IP address, almost like adelphia knows it's a router & not a PC. What am I doing wrong? Anyone running this setup correctly, please help!!

P.S. I dont know if this means anything, but the cable modem will not comunicate with the router when I use a crossover cable to the wan port, it works with a regular cable.

I've got the same problem with a Nortel 1MB modem and Bell Sympatico High Speed access. All LED's are OK, but I cannot get the router to log onto Bell service. I even cloned the MAC addresses, but it did not work.

Any suggestions?

Thanks
