I have a Rogers cable internet connection, and my wireless router is a Network Everywhere NWR04B.

Here's my setup at the moment. In one room, I have a PC, the cable modem, and the wireless router. In the next room is my PC, connected by a 50ft ethernet cable. Downstairs is a laptop.

Now onto the problem. My PC, the one connected by 50ft cable, is the one where the connection is unstable. When the internet goes out on this one, I usually try the windows network repair. Sometimes it works, but otherwise I have to go over to the next room and reboot the router. The connection is fine on the other PC, the one that's with the cable modem and router. But the one in my room loses it's connection on a daily basis. I also get high ping in online games, like 600+ most of the time.

What's the problem here?? The only thing I've done so far is updating the drivers on the router.

It's not news you want to hear...but the "Network Everywhere" routers...Google it...you'll see nothing but complaints. It's a brand label that was made by Linksys...but they won't really acknowledge it. They made some special low budget "white box" routers for a large contract...and this path was how they get rid of the surplus. Google will show you many many compliants of these on various forums. My advice is...get a better router...don't let it ruin the Linksys name for you...their actual brand is good..just not this particular branch.

50' patch cable....tried replacing it? The cable itself could be bad..not able to hold the signal 100%.

Ah, thanks, I always did have a bad feeling about that router....

Before using the 50ft cable, I actually had two smaller cables connected by an extension thing from the dollar store. The connection was even worse then. There was a noticible improvement after I bought the 50ft cable, though.

That's certainly strange. It's a tough call...all I can say off the top of my head is...I've seen soooo many complaints about those Network Everywhere labels. It's like a "bastard child" that Linksys won't even admit to making. It's nowhere to be found on the Linksys website. If you look at NetworkEverywhere.com it's a clone of the 5 year old website that Linksys had years ago.
