Well, I hope someone can help me because I have read lots but don't find my answer. Where I'm at: 2 computers, 'A', B' and I want to set up a simple home network, just to share files and internet connection. A has the modem/router, B has the wireless adapter. Both run WinXP, SO I started by doing the handy WinXP network wizard thing (makes sense). I now have a network (call it 'base1) , that when I click on 'base1' it does show 'shared folders', so I know computer B should be able to access those files. My probelm: HOW do I now connect 'B' to A's network (A being connected to nternet by router). I thought it would be an easy case of going downstairs to 'B' and finding some place in it that would say 'connect this computer to the home network you've just created (well not really, lol, but you get the picture...and yes I am an awful noob:rotfl: )
please please (sorry to be desperate) but I really need help with this...I can get the computer 'connected to the network'- the upstairs computer with the router- but there is 'limited or no connectivity' (no internet) and can't see it in the workgroup of the host computer, and Visa versa. I am going crazy! :(
