Hello to all!
I have a small problem.I had downloaded the latest driver for my Realtek 8139D Network card. Before I installed the new driver,my network connections showed that my L.A.N is Local Area Connection5.So I used the InstallShield program to uninstall the old driver and then I re-booted my machine. When Windows came back up,(I have Windows XP Professional) the New hardware wizard came up.After I showed Windows where the .inf is for the new driver,I had discoverd that I have a Local Area Connection6!,even though I have only ONE network card!
So summing up,does anybody know how get Windows to show that I have only ONE Local Area Network? I did read somewhere that there is file on the Windows XP Professional CD that you can extract and run,but I cannot remember the whole proceedure.
Any help with this problem would be greatly apprieciated.
Regards,
Steve
