Memory Leek?....

Im not shure if it is releated to my DSL that i just resently got. But after 18 hours of being online and transfering data most of the time, i seem to have 4 to 16kb of free ram (out of 256mb). Now i thought i saw some where on a DSL site saying to Download a patch to fix something that had to do with memory leeking? Can some one help me on this?
