I hope I don't get flamed for this, but if you have DirecPC you'll feel my pain.
I'm paying $40 a month for DirecPC, $20 for my ISP, $20 for an extra phone line, and $300 for the stupid satellite. Consistently I have been getting speeds of like 6k/s, even if I don't hit their stupid MB/hr limit (which drops your speed, for those lucky enough to not have it).
Is there any way I can get around that Fair Access Policy, or at least boost my bandwidth somehow? I've tried calling their tech support - no help. It's just a crappy service. I've tried registry tweaks, no help there either. Does anyone know any way to get faster speeds on this? For example, I heard that one of the techs who worked there somehow overclocked his PCI card to get him 3mbps speeds. That would make it worthwhile.
