Does it give the 8Mbps/1Mbps throughput that they advertise?
How stable is it?
How difficult is the installation and do they get it right the first time?
Someone from the Kansas City are please give me some info? Thanks!

Wow, you are willing to spend some cash on that one. I am curious myself. It is $119.99 a month plus 5 dollars per line, and, if I am not mistaken, you need 2 lines for the ADSL to work so that you can talk on the phone at the same time. So that takes it up to $129.99 a month. Let us know how the service works, I am curious myself.

From what I've seen SprintIon is great. the 8Mbs 1Mbs deal costs a lot cuz they switch you over to sprint instead of ur local telephone provider and give you the highest ADSL speed offered. I chatted with one of their techs which a very friendly and effective unlike most @Homes. They will be hesitant to install it if you wont get the speed u ordered, but i would like them just Damn QWorst says i cant get DSL. And @Home will never become avaliable to me... for now. Ohh well what ya gonna do. SprintIon should be a great service. Peace
I hate Sprint ION. They set an install date, and promised the world and then I never heard from then again. When I called them they said the service wasnt available on the east coast. What a bunch of crap.

I've had Sprint ION for about a month an a half. It is well worth it, IMO. My wife has another opinion... ;)
First ION uses DSL to deliver both data and voice, through its on premise hub. So it is using only one pair from the CO, and only requires one line payment charge. The other charge of $119 a month pays for local service, long distance (400 minutes included minutes over are charged at $.07/min), and SMOKING data rates.
I test at about 2.5-3.5 mbps down and 8mbs up. I'm also at about 12kft from the CO, so I knew I wasn't going to get 8mbps. The service has been a lot more reliable than Earthlink DSL, without a reboot since I started service in mid January.
The downside is the voice. The quality isn't the same as POTS, but it is better than Cell phone. Some of the calling features are a little flaky (getting Call Waiting pings, when I thought I had call waiting turned off...)
Overall, I'm saving money using ION, and have incredible speed. Most test sites can't give me a good reading on my speed, but I downloaded 26 megabytes of Netscape Navigator in about 90 seconds.
Hope that helps...
If you happen to live in Johnson County (which means you have money, lol) - they are rolling out Ultraband there now, in beta testing. Check with Utilicorp Communications Services there, they are the provider. This is the only place in the KC metroplex that has this service so far.

SprintION uses a shared ATM connection to deliver the goods. The hardware they provide you with is a ATM<>ETHERNET converter/router. This is why they have such amazing speeds.

I have sprint ion.. they have a little bugs with the telephone lines, but overall its a great service. I get around 880KB/s down and 110KB/s up (thats about 6.7mbps down and 880kbps up). I have no complaints. And the second phone line isn't for the dsl. Its a second phone line. Like Navigator said, everything goes through the DSL line via the hub they give you. This hub is also battery backed just in case there is a power outage.
